# Services and pricing

Services describe what your studio sells. They keep projects, booking pages, invoices, reports, and campaign filters organized around the same client-friendly offers.

Go to **Settings -> Services**. The page has separate tabs for **Services**, **Add-ons**, and **Pricing**.

## Create a service

Create one service for each major kind of work you offer, such as weddings, families, newborns, branding, or school portraits.

Add a clear name and description. The name may appear in forms and booking flows, so use wording clients will recognize instead of internal shorthand.

### Choose what happens when fulfillment starts

Each service can control whether starting fulfillment creates a linked task:

- **Ask each time** lets you decide when you start fulfillment on a project.
- **Create automatically** adds a linked task without another prompt.
- **Do not create a task** starts fulfillment without adding one.

When tasks are enabled, choose the Task Board that should receive them. You can also set an earliest and latest delivery window and customize the task name with `{service}` and `{project}`. If you set a latest delivery date, LYGHTBOX uses it as the new task's due date.

Create a Task Board before choosing **Ask each time** or **Create automatically**.

## Add packages

Select a service, then add the packages clients can choose for it. A package includes:

- A name and client-facing description.
- A price in your account currency.
- A duration in minutes or hours.
- Optional booking defaults.
- Any add-ons that should be available with it.

Package examples include “Essential Collection,” “Full Portrait Session,” or “Half-Day Brand Session.” Use the description to explain what is included, not to store private notes.

### Booking defaults

A package can suggest a contract template and questionnaire when you add it to a service-booking event. These are starting defaults, not permanent requirements: you can override them in the event settings.

Packages also control which reusable add-ons are offered when that package appears in a booking flow.

## Build the add-on library

Use **Add-ons** for optional extras such as an album, additional coverage, a second photographer, rush delivery, or extra images.

Each add-on has a name and amount in your account currency. After creating it, edit a package and turn the add-on on for that package. This keeps an add-on reusable without offering it with every service automatically.

## Create discount rules

Use **Pricing** to define discounts that can appear during event booking. A rule can use either a percentage or a fixed amount.

For each rule, choose:

- Whether the discount is currently offered.
- An optional promo code.
- The minimum number of total items or packages required.
- An optional priority when more than one rule could qualify.
- Whether it applies to all services, one service, or one package.

A rule without a promo code can apply when its conditions are met. A rule with a code requires the client to enter that code during checkout. Turn **Offer this discount** off when you want to keep the rule without making it available for new bookings.

## How the catalog is reused

Set up services before building the workflows that depend on them:

- Manual projects require a service and can also use a package.
- Service-booking events offer selected packages and package add-ons.
- Inquiry forms can assign a fixed service or let a mapped Service Type field determine it.
- Invoices can use project and package amounts as a starting point.
- Dashboard and Pulse group performance by service.
- Contacts and campaigns can be filtered by the services connected to their projects.

Changing a catalog item updates how it is offered going forward. Existing projects, invoices, and completed bookings retain the details recorded for that work.

## Keep pricing easy to understand

Before publishing an event, review the exact combination a client sees:

1. Confirm each package has the right duration and price.
2. Make sure only relevant add-ons are enabled.
3. Test automatic and promo-code discounts separately.
4. Check the contract and questionnaire defaults.
5. Preview the booking page before sharing it.

Your account currency is used throughout the catalog. If the currency is wrong, correct it before adding packages, add-ons, or paid bookings.
