LYGHTBOX Uploader

Use LYGHTBOX Uploader to send photos to a gallery. It also handles uploads from the Lightroom Classic plugin.

Download LYGHTBOX Uploader for Mac

Requires macOS 13 or later on a Mac with Apple silicon. Windows support coming soon. You can also find it in Settings → Galleries → Connections in LYGHTBOX.

Install and connect

  1. Unzip the download and move LYGHTBOX Uploader to Applications.
  2. Open the app and choose Connect account.
  3. Sign in to LYGHTBOX in the browser. Compare the code shown there with the uploader, then approve the connection for the account you want to use.
  4. Return to the uploader to choose a gallery.

If you use Lightroom, follow the plugin setup guide too. Connect both apps to the same LYGHTBOX account.

You can open a gallery in LYGHTBOX and choose Open uploader, or select Choose gallery in the uploader. Search for its name, select the result, and confirm with Choose gallery. Use Show more for additional results.

Choose a Scene to group the photos, or leave No scene selected. Then:

  • Drop JPEG photos or folders into the uploader.
  • Use Choose photo or Choose folder if you prefer a file picker.

Check the gallery and scene before adding photos. If you choose a different gallery or scene later, photos already in the list will still upload to the place you first chose.

Keep the original files where they are until their status is Ready. If they are on an external drive, leave it connected. Ready means the photo is ready to view in your gallery.

Uploading does not publish a draft gallery to clients. Return to LYGHTBOX to review, publish, and share it. See Galleries.

Manage uploads

Use a photo’s Actions menu to Pause, Resume, Retry, or Cancel upload, depending on its status. Closing the uploader window keeps uploads running; reopen it from its menu bar icon. Choosing Quit stops the app, and reopening it restores the saved upload list.

Clear finished removes Ready and Cancelled entries from the list. It does not delete the originals or photos in your galleries.

If an upload needs attention

  • The uploader cannot find a photo: put the original file back where it was, reconnect its drive if needed, then choose Retry. To upload a newly exported replacement, cancel the old upload and add the new file.
  • A photo could not be added to the gallery: choose Cancel upload, export a fresh JPEG, and add it again.
  • The uploader could not open from your gallery: reopen the gallery in LYGHTBOX and choose Open uploader again.
  • You need to connect your account again: choose Connect account and approve the correct account again.
  • The uploader cannot open your upload list: try Check for updates, then Try again. Start fresh saves a copy of the old list and opens an empty one; unfinished photos must be added or published from Lightroom again. Read its confirmation before proceeding.

For help with interrupted Lightroom uploads, follow the Lightroom Classic guide.
